Weekly Prayer Guide Booklet

Website Prayer for week of June 12

Protective God, our children are so much on
our mind and concerns for their safety permeate our hearts
and minds.  We know from teachers, counselors, and youth
leaders that not only does their safety concern us, our young
people share how when they go into their classrooms or a
different part of the school, their first thought is what will I
to, how will I escape, if we have an active shooter situation.
O Lord, you know this is not healthy and so concerning for
parents, teachers, administrators and us, your church.
Please, may those with the ability and power to change this
climate of fear and violence find a commitment to act, to act
now!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of June 4

Holy Three-in-One God, help me to order my
life after the teachings of Jesus that I may be a Giver of
Hope when my path crosses with another’s. Give me your
wisdom when I need to make myself available to journey a
while with another. Give me your words to fill the chasm in
another’s life. Your humble servant,

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of May 28

Remembering God, thank you for being present with
me in the moments and days and seconds of missing those no
longer in my life.. Even if others have forgotten, I know you
remember. I know because you flood my mind with images, and
stories, and sounds of laughter, and feelings of love and joy and
amazement and sometimes regrets. For some many life blessings,
thank you!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of May 21

Good morning God! I’ve decided it is going to be
good day today!!! I don’t have anything special planned, but I
suspect you do. Pastor says, your story in the Bible is filled
with surprises. So, I am looking forward to the surprises you
have instore for me today! I know you will not disappoint!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of May 14

Thank you God for spring with flowering trees,
gentle rains, blossoming flowers and the sounds of children playing
outside. It helps me forget about my aching back, untrustworthy
joints, forgetfulness of the simplest things, and well, loving God, a
bunch more that just seems to escape me right now. Oh yes, thank
you for family and friends and your loving presence with me every
moment of every day no matter what comes my way!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of May 7

Loving God, all around me I find a spinning out of control world. Technology is passing me by. It’s a challenge just to
place a simple phone call. And once a call goes through, I almost always find myself talking to a machine, often hanging up without every having spoken to another human being. Listening to the news, it seems like people working together for the good of others is not the approach to take because it does not get one votes. God, of my life, thank you for being a God of order and love and not a God of votes. Thank you for not being a vending machine God, that listens to my wishes and spews out coupons to be turned in for preprinted answers depending on my situation. Thank you God for being you! Help me to be me, a child of God, humble to the needs of others, desiring to live a life of witness that others may see and get to know you, personally!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of April 30

With each passing day, Lord, I trust the time will come when I will awake surrounded by your glory in a world unmade by human hands. Until that time, help me live each day in such a way that others will see in me a glimpse of your peace and love leading them to fulfill the vision you have for their life. Give we words of comfort for the hurting. Give me the ministry of presence in times where there are simply no human words to share. May my arms always be able to hold the hands, bodies, or minds of the broken. In Jesus name, I humbly pray.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of April 23

Today is simply a tough day, O God. I see the unfolding of the promise of spring and new beginnings all around me. Yet, it is the memories of previous springs and previous new beginnings that I see in the eyes of my memories. Thank you for those cherished memories! Thank you even for the tears that go with them, reminders of how precious the gift of life is and those I have loved along the way. As I wipe away the tears, and rise up to live this day, help me be a source of making precious memories for others to remember, and treasure, on some tough day in their future.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of April 16

April is always an interesting month! I never know whether I will be outside planting flowers or inside wishing I was a kid again and could go outside and jump in the puddles! Something tells me, God, you designed it that way just to keep us on or toes . . . reminding us to not become complacent about the gift of life . . . telling us perhaps, we need to be a bit more adaptable particularly to the needs of others. It also tells me, just when I think I know all I need to know about you, I need to think again! Yes, you, my Creator, are so much more than I have been able to begin to figure out. Perhaps I need to become like a child again to see what wonders of you and your creation and your plan for my life you are still unfolding.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of April 9

Providing God, seeing the rising of the sun each morning, particularly on Easter morning, per-
haps brings into our hearts a touch of the awe, sense of amazement, hope, of the good news

Mary took to the other disciples when she said “I have seen the Master.” Help me to see Jesus
with new eyes in the world around us; even in silence to hear him gently, compassionately, call
my name; and be able to embrace his promised grace, love, and peace into my own life and
those humbly lifted to you now . . .

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of April 2

Lord, in your mercy, forgive us when we chose not to see, chose not to hear,
chose to be offended. Forgive our defense of our self-serving actions. Help us take
the needed steps to heal the brokenness.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of March 26

Protective God, help us to not allow ourselves to be lead into times of deception. Grant us your wisdom of thoughts, words, and actions in such dangerous times.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of March 19

How often Dear Lord, have we heard your voice and failed
to believe? How often have we, therefore, missed out on your
blessings for our lives? When you speak and we tend to not
believe, please help our unbelief.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of March 5

At my rising, Awesome God, the sun beckons me
with the promise of a day waiting for me to embrace. Often, I
gingerly step into the day, not sure I can or even want to embrace
what lies ahead. Yet in the rays of the sunset’s light, reflecting on
the moments of the day, I am often left breathless by the ways
you gifted my day with your abiding presence and love. You
truly are an Awesome God.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of February 26

Listening God, this is the first week of Lent. I
have been preparing my heart and mind to enter this special
season of personal reflection with passion to get to know you and
to get to know myself better each day. In the Scriptures I read, in
the words and melodies of favorite hymns that walk through my
mind, in the times of silence set aside for just you and me, help
me see you more clearly, help me find the answers to questions
that plague me, bring me your peace and may your light shine
through me touching others you send my way. In Jesus’ name I
humble pray.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of February 19

Comforting God, as the season of Lent is rapidly
approaching, help me to once again turn my focus inward and explore
what Pastor Gerry calls God and Me time. In truth, I am looking
forward to this much needed time of personal reflection. As I read the
Scriptures, and spend time in silence listening for your voice to
encourage and guide me each day, help me step away from the
distracting noises of life and each day grow closer and closer to
understanding your call on my life in this day and time. In Jesus name,

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of February 12

God of my heart, help me this week to center on ways in which I can through prayers or acts of kindness touch the hearts of others brightening their day, bringing assurance that their life matters to me and to you, our Loving Parent. In Jesus name,

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of January 29

Loving God of each new day.  Sometimes the years seem to pass so quickly.  At other times the days seem to go so slowly.  It is your abiding presence with me that enables me to embrace and appreciate both, reminding me to treasure the diverse blessings of life's gifts.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of January 22

Loving God, sometimes as I sit in the silence of my home, just allowing my mind to walk down pathways of years gone by, my mind frequently becomes flooded with familiar scenes.  Thank you for the gift of memories and the joy, smiles, and even laughter that wells up in side of me spilling all over the room. It is good to stop and remember the blessings you have sent to me and how rich and blessed my life has been. Thank you! Help me to be a blessing from you to others today and each of my tomorrows.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of January 15

Loving and Sustaining God,  In so many places around us we find deep abiding sadness.  Whether it is in the lose of a loved one or a close friend, unthinkable violence in the most unlikely places, or the ravages of nature through violent storms or unrelenting heat or cold, it is your calming presence we so desperately seek.  Thank you for being that calming presence and so much more.  You meet each one of us where we are in the midst of life's challenging moments and bring to each exactly what we need for our next step through today, into tomorrow.  In Jesus name,

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of January 8

Loving God of each new day.  Sometimes the years seem to pass so quickly.  At other times the days seem to go so slowly.  It is your abiding presence with me that enables me to embrace and appreciate both, reminding me to treasure the diverse blessings of life's gifts.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of December 18

God of my stillness, in the quiet moments of solitude, when I look out on the vastness of a star lite sky, across an open field as morning unfolds, or down the road as I travel by myself and ask where and why and how, thank you for helping me understand I need to look beyond my questions. Thank you for the wonderful gifts of the season of Advent — Holy Scriptures, heart and soul moving hymns, voices of family, friends, and even complete strangers you have placed on my path like stepping stones. Stepping stones provided by and leading straight into your presence, your life changing love through the babe in the manger, Jesus.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of December 11

Dear God, as I look outside my windows at night, or drive past decorated homes, the light from the multitude of glimmering, individual Christmas lights dance before my eyes. To me they become like the multitude of angels that appeared to the shepherds in the field. My heart suddenly becomes filled with heavenly joy, perhaps like those shepherds experienced that holy night. Lord, help me to go see anew the baby for myself. Help me to tell others what I have seen. Help me, help the multitude of others, experience your heavenly joy for themselves. Make me an instrument not only of that joy, but also your hope and peace.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of December 4

Mysterious God, like Mary, I struggle with how you could use someone like me. Others, oh yes, I can see
how you might use others. But me? In my present stage of life? What do I have to offer to Jesus, now,
today, this moment? In the silence of my thoughts, please open the eyes of my heart that I might see and
understand and find the courage to respond to you like Mary —Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be
with me according to your word.” In the name of Jesus, my Savior, I pray.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of November 27

New Beginnings . . . With the Advent Season unfolding around us marking the beginning of a new Christian year, it always amazes me, Creator God, how hope, peace, joy and love, despite the hardest of life’s challenges, seep into the core of our very being, our spirit, lighting that much needed spark as we gaze once again on the babe in the manger. Healing and Sustaining God may that lighted spark of my Spirit grow brighter and brighter with the unfolding of each day of this Christian year.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of November 20

Reflections . . . As our Thanksgiving Day tradition gets closer, help me Eternal God to slow down the pacing
of my days, to take the time and just remember through everything, how blessed I am. In the routineness of
life, or the madness of endless appointments, or seasons of constantly shifting sands under my feet, it is your
peace, O Loving God, and your arms that hold me and your grace that sustains me, Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.

Amen

Website Prayer for week of November 13

Memories . . . a very special gift from you Loving and Inciteful God. Sometimes joyful, other times painful,
often making me melancholy, but always bringing me around to my relationship with you. In those memories, from the joyful to the painful to the melancholy, I see the blessings of this gift called life. Even when I do not understand the paths life takes me down or the journeys of those I love, if I just look deep enough in the silence I have always seen your handiwork. Lord, help me see your handiwork today.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of November 6

Time. . . Dearest God, as I sit and think about our relationship, in my mind the word ‘time’ keeps recycling
over and over. Looking back on my life, how quickly time has passed. And I question how wisely I have used
the time of my past? Today, I wonder will time be my friend or foe? When today becomes tomorrow, and this
present becomes my past, just how will I feel about today’s time. So my Dearest Friend, please help me to so
order today’s time after the example of Jesus, that as the time of each of my tomorrows slips into past time, I
will know I have been a good and faithful servant to you, my Dearest Friend, and to each one of my neighbors.
Amen.

Website Prayer for week of October 30

I lift to you, O Lord, the countless people who for whatever reason, have had their lives turned upside down
through the storms of nature or the storms of life. Wherever they live, whatever their situation, may they feel
your presence with them and the warmth of your love flow through them. And if someone within the sound of
my voice, or the steps of my feet, or the length of my offered hand can be helped by me, please guide us to
each other.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of October 23

Pumpkins. Scare crows. Bails of hay. Crisp
cold apples. Mountains of beautiful colored trees. Your
creativity that surrounds us and your thoughtfulness for the
importance of our having lives of purpose always seems to
surface in my mind about this time of year, God our amazing
parent. Help us to have hearts as caring and compassionate
towards all your children as is your heart towards us. Help us
encourage others to use their gifts of creativity that come from
you to find their purpose in life in a way that also encourages
others to find theirs. Surrounded by the humility of all the
ways you have blessed my live.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of October 16

Lord of this very day, when I step outside, I
am always amazed at the way the changes in the air so
refreshingly signal the changes of the season. Memories of so
many years gone by seem to ‘live-stream’ through my mind.
Thank you for the gift of memories, even the painful ones.
They remind us of the realness of life and make us appreciate
the smiles and laughter that much more. With a smiling soul,
thank you.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of October 9

Amazing God, waking up each morning and looking
out my window to check out the day is like receiving a gift never
being quite sure what that picture will look like. I’ve seen it now
how many times? And yet, each time, just before I open the blind or
pull back the curtains, there is just a split second, when I am like a
child again, wondering what unexpected picture is going to appear.
Whether I find illumination from the sun or a curtain of falling rain,
in truth, I know I am blessed and I feel your presence in my very
soul. Thank you.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of October 2

Sometimes God, I know I just need to stop
and celebrate you and the ways in which you have touched my life, made it richer, brought friends into it to share our journeys with each other. Today is one of those days. So, for the special friends I now name to you, I give you thanks. (Name your friends.) For the times when I know you touched my life and the life of those I love even before you were asked to do so, I give you thanks. For allowing me to be a part of someone else’s journey with you, I give you thanks. For this day and the chance to celebrate you one more time, thank you.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of September 25

Sometimes God, I know I just need to stop and celebrate you and the ways in which you have touched my life, made it richer, brought friends into it to share our journeys with each other. Today is one of those days. So, for the special
friends I now name to you, I give you thanks. (Name your friends.) For the times when I know you touched my life and
the life of those I love even before you were asked to do so, I give you thanks. For allowing me to be a part of someone

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of September 18

Dear God, today I pray for my faith community. Our roots have grown deep. Oh, not as deep as the cathedrals of Europe. But they have sustained the winds of change of how we see certain aspects of life differently than generations before us. We have survived differences of opinion on Bible translations, ways of receiving communion, when we are baptized and how, and even probably disagreement of the color of the carpet in our Sanctuary. We were always able to come back together and sing as one voice of your amazing grace. Lord, help us to overcome disagreements brought on by a virus. Help us come together as the body of Christ, as you call us to do, to serve you and each other while once again, in one voice, singing of your amazing grace.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of September 11

O Lord, I pray for our country as desperately today as we did the week of 9/11 not so many years ago. She is so in need of clearly hearing the teachings of Jesus. She is so in need of being able to separate truth from rumor. She is so in need of being able to discern the realities that answer the simple question, Why? Help me be an instrument of your peace, love, truth, and hope for all of our tomorrows.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of September 4

Creator God, is that a leaf turning already signaling the approach of Fall? Life slips by as quickly as a leaf floats down to the awaiting ground. Yet I look forward to this new arriving season filled with leaves of breath taking colors where only green once filled my view. You bless the seasons of life both of creation and our human existence with signs of change, each its own unique gift if we just stop, and reflect, and see with our eyes and our hearts. Thank you, Lord, for each new day. Thank you for the gifts time brings to our lives. Thank you for always being willing to share life’s journey with us providing we are willing to share it with you.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of August 28

God of each morning, sunlight brings promises of a day of purpose. Help me
see that purpose even if I am limited in my travels. It is not the distance that one travels that
matters, but the love one has for others. It is the prayers we offer to you for those whose needs
are more important than ours. It is the prayers of thanksgiving I give to you acknowledging
your presence with me in simple day to day living. It is realizing just how blessed I truly am and the exploring of ways I can share those blessing with others right here in my favorite rocking chair, looking out my favorite window, in the peace of today’s sunshine.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of August 21

God of understanding, some days and some seasons are more difficult to face
than others. Your presence walking with us matters so much and I am afraid I all too often do
not stop and simply say ‘thank you.’ So, ’thank you’ for all the times I know you are right
here with me even if others do not seem to remember I exist. ’Thank you,’ foremost, for being
here when I am not aware of your presence and not aware of just how must I need you in a
given moment.

Amen

Website Prayer for week of August 14

God, looking around I am reminded that life is constantly changing, presenting
itself in new ways, bringing new challenges, new opportunities to see you in new ways and to
grow closer to you. Thank you for designing the gift of life, not as stagnant, but as ever being
fresh, giving us every day a special new gift of discovery. Help me to discover what you wish
for me this day and help me to use this new discovery to serve you and others as I continually
grow closer to you Almighty and Loving God.

Amen

Website Prayer for week of August 7

Loving God I look around and can not believe it is August already. It is hard to
believe how fast the summer is going. The beauty of creation from the variety and colors of flowers and blooming trees to the mountains and ocean waves, whether I have had to opportunity to see myself or hear about them from the travels of others, help me see you are a God of order and creativity and caring for even me. These images inspire me to bring order to my life and to try and use the creativity I have to bring beauty to others. Thank you for the richness your creation brings to my life and the life of others.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of July 31

Months with fifth Sundays God,  always seem kind of special. Like getting two cherries on top of an ice cream Sunday. My prayer is for my Zion faith community, as they envision ways to use these ‘special Sundays’ to build community through mission outreach. Bless our  work, bring us closer together and to you, make us your beacon here in Spotsy!

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of July 24

Amazing God, this seems like a good day to just reflect on my life, its adventures, challenges, sweet memories, loved ones I miss, ones who bring joy and purpose to my life today. I lift my eyes to you and simply whisper ‘Thank you’.

Website Prayer for week of July 17

Dear God, summer is slipping through our fingers. I look around and try to grasp the opportunities you put right in front of me to use warmer weather to encourage and enable me to share my life with others. Help me see those opportunities and to reach out to serve you and glorify your name.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of July 10

God of this day. Thank you for another opportunity to enjoy the gift of life you have given me. Use me in ways you desire to help others experience life in thankful ways drawing us closer to you and each other.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of July 3

God of new beginnings, new opportunities, thank you for each opportunity to experience you and your
creation in new energizing ways. Help us help each other as life continuously unfolds in expected and
unexpected ways.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of June 26

Creative God, all around me are the colors of the rainbow in the beauty of your creation. Your bright, colorful world lifts my spirits and fills me with hope, sustaining me even in times if darkness and despair. Thank you for each season. Thank you for the opportunities I have in warmer weather to see and interact with others.

Amen

Website Prayer for week of June 19

Sitting with you my loving parent, O God, I am reflecting on those you have placed in my life who have so often shown your qualities of a loving parent. Gentle souls, always willing to listen, or when appropriate offering words of wisdom, ever encouraging me to simply trust you. Qualities in others I still need today. Thank you, O Loving Parent.

Amen.

Website Prayer for week of June 12

Amazing God, whether in the rising of the morning sun, or the settling of day’s end as evening surrounds us, you are the constant that enables us to see beyond ourselves and embrace you and your creation.

In both hope for new adventures or appreciation for the gifts of another day, we humbly thank you!

Amen

Website Prayer for week of June 5

Website Prayer for week of May 29

Precious God, each month, just like each morning, reminds us of new beginnings with and through you. Sometimes in our humanity, it is difficult to take that first step. Thank you for taking my hand each morning. Help me take the hands of others when they need assurance that they do not journey alone.

Amen.

Prayer for the week of May 22

Dear God, your calming presence in the storms and uncertainties of life means so much when all around us seems so beyond our control. As I close my eyes, help me breath in the the peace of the Holy Spirit that after my ‘amen’ I may be that same calming force to all I encounter.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Prayer for the week of May 15

Loving God, thank you for longer days of day light that lift my spirits and help enable me to appreciate the awesome beauty of your creation. Thank you for loving and supportive family and friends. Help me to be that same kind of support whether through phone calls, cards, or some small special act of kindness.

In the name of Jesus I pray,

Amen.

Prayer for the week of May 8

Dear God, thank you for the beauty of Spring that is blooming all around us. Such bright and beautiful colors lift spirits even on the darkest of days. Help me be a good steward of the resources you have provided that others may share in the awesomeness of your creation. In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer for the week of April 24

Looking around me in these blooming days of Spring, I find so many reasons to praise you.

(Reflect on your life and simply tell God for what you praise him.)

Amen.

April 17, 2022

Easter has come once again God, my loving Sustainer. And my heart sings! Just as spring flowers appear and bring color to the world outside, Easter springs forth with the promise of hope of eternal life in your presence, Almighty God. May the Holy Spirit open my mind and heart to friends and others I meet to be a source of your love.

Amen.

April 10, 2022

Loving and understanding God, this week takes me through so many emotions. Images of waving palms and shouts of “making way for the one who comes in the name of the Lord,” giveaway to betrayal, beatings, and Jesus on a cross. And in between we share in the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples and the words” D this in remembrance of me.”  Help me recognize the opportunities of love I can share with others in remembrance of you.

Amen.

April 3, 2022

This special season of Lent is coming to a close, Lord. I have tried to focus, not on my neighbor’s relationship with you, but my own. Thank you for allowing me to perhaps see a bit more of myself as you see me. Help me to continue to grow as a disciple truly bringing the kingdom here to earth as you commanded.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

March 27, 2022

Time passes so quickly God. Another month has flown by. I often think about how on the surface life is just one day after another, a sameness. But then, often when a new month is on the horizon, I realize how different today is, my life is, from a month ago. It makes me more aware of taking time to stop and appreciate each day. What is the same in the world around me? What is different? How am I the same? How have I changed? How do I see you the same way? More important, perhaps, how do I see you differently? What have I learned? How does the answer to what I learned effect, change, my vision for today, for all of my tomorrows?

Amen.

March 20, 2022

Setting aside intentional time just for you God isn’t always easy. Sometimes I just find myself sitting in the silence not sure what to say . . . listening, realizing I do not need to say anything. Perhaps that is when I most clearly hear your voice . . . in my own silence. I think I just need to sit here a while, if that is okay with you Lord. (Sit in the silence as meets your needs.) Thank you Lord,

Amen.

March 13, 2022

Dear God, we are told Lent is a time of reflection. I have come to realize that, sometimes, I need to just stop and remember the times and ways and places in my life that you have taken care of me. There have been so many that I recognized, remember. I suspect there were so many more that I just simply never realized or per-haps have forgotten. I am not sure I ever really thanked you. Forgive me if I just took those moments for granted. Taking you for granted is so human, isn’t it? As the Lenten season continues, help me see, remember, and reappreciate those special God moments meant just for me.

Amen.

March 6, 2022

Almighty God, just like Jesus spent time in the wilderness in preparation for his ministry, I too sometimes find myself in a wilderness of sorts. Thank you for the angels you send to me during those times to minister to my needs. Sometimes they are in the form of people from my faith community. At other times they may be a complete stranger. And, still at other times, I know they are indeed heavenly hosts sustaining me in the darkest of times into a new truth in my relationship with you. For such blessings, I humbly thank you. Help me to be an angel to someone, known or unknow to me, that they may know that the wilderness moments of their life will pass into a closer relationship with you, our Loving Parent.

Amen.

February 27, 2022

Holy and Loving God, how quickly the days go by. February, with its colorful images of red and pink hearts, and reminders to stop and let others know that we simply love and appreciate them, will soon be just a memory once again. March, this year, brings us quickly to the season of Lent. Forgive me, understanding God, if I have not always appreciated Lent as a special “God-and-Me” season in my life. But thank you for leading us to set aside these special days. Thank you for knowing the importance for us to just stop and focus on our one-on-one relationship with you. So God, I ask you to lead me in my time with you during this year’s Lent in special ways. Help me to discover more deeply our relationship together now in this stage of my life.

Amen.

February 20, 2022

God of full moons and welcoming sunrises. God of peaceful slumber and visions of promise for each new day. Thank you for journeying with me this day. Help me to see the visions of promise with clear eyes and, in the moments of challenge, help me remember I do not journey alone. For those I know, and those I have never met, who see the same moon and sunrise that I see, may this day bring to them promises of peace and hope and visions of your promised presence with them always. Thank you Almighty God, for your presence with me this week and all of my tomorrows.

Amen.

February 13, 2022

In the midst of our day to day living, awesome God, we sometimes forget the ways in which you show love to us. From the nature that surrounds us, to the people we meet in day to day living, to the desires that fill our very being to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, we can see and feel your creative design and love from which each gift of life flows. Help me appreciate the simple things of life realizing, in the simple, I can find a world that gives promise and allows me to shine in ways unique to just me but reflective of your truly being our ‘awesome God. In that reflection, may others find their pathway to you and awareness of your love in their life too.

Amen.

February 6, 2022

Today loving God, the words of the Psalmist come to mind.

“I give thanks to you with all my heart, Lord.” (Psalm 138)

February is already here. Our thoughts turn to red and pink hearts. The stores are stocked with boxes of candy for Valentine’s Day. And I remember what it was like to be a child and look forward to the preparing, as well as, the giving of a Valentine to each child in my class. God help me sustain that kind of excitement and desire to reach out and touch each one — whoever the ‘each ones.’ are in my life now. And thank you for the ‘each ones’ who reach out to me and make me feel loved and remembered. May they each receive an extra measure of you grace. For as the Psalmist wrote,

“Your faithful love lasts forever. Lord! Don’t let go of what your hands have made.”

Amen.

God of winter days and sometimes endless time of solitude. Thank you for the quite of my life. Help me to see this as a time of reflection. A time to just be. A time to remember all of the blessings of life you have brought to me. Help me see opportunities I may have to be your blessing to others in a phone call, or a card, or simply a smile to a stranger. My life will always have purpose for you. Help me see those opportunities and not be afraid to reach out in what ever way I can to let others know their life too has purpose.

Amen.

God of today and all of my tomorrows. Thank you for your presence with me as a new year begins once again. Each new year, each new day, holds your promise of new life experiences. Help me, even in times of darkness or trial, to see beyond perceived limitations to re-member that my life matters to you. Help me find in each day at least one way in which I may make a difference in someone else’s life. And at day’s end may I find your peace.

Amen.
